Inchoate Neri-Koh Incense. Zaatar, Malawi camphor basil, scented geranium, black sage, roses (alba, moss, damask, musk, and gallica), apricots, cardamom, wild fir balsam and red spruce boughs.

The Wild Veil Inchoate Neri-Koh is a twist on a traditional type of Japanese incense balls that are kneaded and cured. Photos show various stages of the process. A 1 oz. portion of this will be measured out into a tin for each order. Every ingredient in this incense is either organic or wild grown and sustainably collected from contaminant free stands. To make this Neri-Koh, I first used a granite mortar and pestle to grind herbs and plants I had cured after being harvested from my summer garden: Zaatar (Origanum syriacum), Malawi camphor basil, ten types of scented geranium, black sage, roses (alba, moss, damask, musk, and gallica), and angel wing jasmine (Jasminum nitidum) that I had tinctured with with bushman candle (Sarcocaulon mossamedense) and Iliahi (Kauai sandalwood). I took raw cured apricots and pounded them to a paste, then kneaded into the powdered herbs. Rolled into a ball to cure. Injected with my wild Norway spruce needle tincture, aged 9 months. Cured. Then I ground cuttings I had cured from my high-resin content rosemary prostratus, and rolled the ball in the resulting green powder. I let this sit, then broke the ball apart into pill-sized chunks. I laid whole cardamom pods, clove buds, and wild fir balsam and red spruce boughs atop the pieces to infuse with fragrance. I alternately let this sit, and folded it over to mix.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: loose kneaded nuggets, herbs, woods, and spices are measured out into a 1 oz. tin, which is perfect for storing and further aging your incense, should you so desire. This incense is best used on an electric incense heater on medium high heat (it will take approximately 30-40 minutes to become diffuse), but it can also be enjoyed on a charcoal censer, by tossing it into the fire, or gently warming it atop an aromatherapy diffuser. Perfect for ritual work and meditation.
